Choosing Self-Care and Renewal - Page 2 of 2
In order to foster growth and evolution, we need to allow the natural processes of renewal to unfold. This involves three basic, but powerful steps:
First, we must be able to let go of that which is no longer functional and/or helpful. Second, we must be open to new visions, new perceptions, and new possibilities and be willing to go through periods of uncertainty. Third, we must be willing to explore, try out new concepts, evaluate alternative solutions and risk the consequences of new behaviors.
Some insights have been suggested by noted self-help expert Barbara Reasoner:
"In a crazy, mixed up world, you take care of everyone but yourself. To become whole, you must give yourself permission to take the time you deserve for your own personal development. In a crazy, mixed up world, you take your health for granted. To become whole, you need to honor yourself by respecting and taking care of your (yes, this is corny) temple.
In a crazy, mixed up world, your're too busy to cultivate your relationships with friends and family. Becoming whole means strengthening your relationships by nurturing those that are healthy and admitting that you need other people in your life and that they need you, too.
In a crazy, mixed up world, you critically dissect the past and live in dread of what the future may bring. To become whole, you must live in the present and appreciate who you are, what you are and what you have at this very moment."
Self-care and renewal is a choice that can only be made by you. We hope this path has helped you find good reasons to begin your journey.
